Instructions for mounting a fresco containing 1 or more canvas
The frescoes have Vlies base and are attached to the prepared surface (wall or ceiling) just like ordinary wallpapers.
The surface should be flat, pre-puttied, primed (with acryl or another deep-penetrating primer), dry and clean.
When a fresco gets wet, it becomes more resistant to cutting, thus steps 3,4,5,6 should be performed faster for more quality joints.
General recommendations:
A fresco cannot be applied to wallpapers, fiberglass, plastic and similar surfaces.
Windows and doors should be closed while mounting the fresco and during its drying. The small bubbles will self-stretch after drying.
1.
Lay the fresco on a flat surface
2.
Put a thick layer of glue to the wall
3.
Apply the fresco to the wall starting from the upper side
Recommended glue
Use only glues designed for Vlies and heavy Vlies wallpapers. The glue should be thin down so that the resulting mass is slightly thicker than normally.
4.
Overlap and connect both surfaces to combine the image.
5.
Cut two surfaces simultaneously with an abrupt line.
6.
Tightly press the jointing edge.
2.
Roll the surface with a roller. Press the outstanding edges with a teaspoon.
